RESPONSIVENESS LEADS TO READINESS

Thornton Aviation keeps Pilgrim Air’s aircraft safe, reliable and mission ready.

Since Pilgrim Air purchased its Gulfstream GIV in 2019, Thornton Aviation has been the backbone of maintenance and operational support for both the GIV and Pilgrim Air’s Hawker 800XP. Flight department manager Gary Morgan describes the relationship as more than a service arrangement—it is a true partnership built on trust, responsiveness and an unwavering dedication to customer needs.

Responsive support keeps every mission moving

Thornton Aviation has handled all maintenance since acquisition, from scheduled work to urgent AOG support. When an avionics or mechanical issue appears, even with passengers waiting on the ramp, Gary calls Thornton Aviation. The team drops what it is doing and can be at the aircraft within five minutes—regardless of the hour or urgency.

That responsiveness continues when Pilgrim Air is away from home. Gary can call any team member at any hour for guidance or direct pilot support, while Thornton Aviation’s parts staff has worked after midnight to secure urgent components for AOG situations. The result is dependable support wherever the aircraft is operating.

When Pilgrim Air faced a difficult intermittent bus issue in the GIV’s avionics system, the team meticulously traced it to a partially engaged wire deep in the avionics rack. With thousands of wires and connectors to examine, the diagnosis demanded persistence, precision and a refusal to give up. “There are thousands of wires and connectors—that was probably one of the hardest things they did for us,” says Gary.

No matter what you fly or what services you need, Thornton Aviation has got you covered.

“I can be out on the ramp with passengers waiting, and if there’s a glitch—whether avionics or mechanical—I call Thornton Aviation. They drop what they’re doing and show up within five minutes.”
